Palm Beach County is a recognized national leader in the aviation, aerospace and engineering industries, with more than 20,000 employees in 629 businesses, including B/E Aerospace (the worldwide leading manufacturer of passenger-cabin interior products for jet aircraft), Lockheed Martin, Pratt Whitney, Aerojet Rocketdyne, and Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, which manufactures the U.S. Army’s UH-60M BlackHawk helicopter here.

Educational institutions throughout the county work with private industry to provide a highly skilled and knowledgeable workforce, including aeronautics/aerospace and related technology/engineering programs at Boynton Beach Community College, Florida Atlantic University, Lynn University, and Palm Beach State College.
